Data Request Policy
How HostingCPU evaluates requests for customer information.
This policy covers requests from law enforcement, regulators, civil litigants, and other third parties seeking information relating to HostingCPU customers or hosted services.
1. Valid Process
HostingCPU reviews requests for customer information and may require valid legal process, identity verification, jurisdictional relevance, and sufficient detail before considering disclosure. For India-based matters, HostingCPU may require process that is valid under applicable Indian law or otherwise legally recognizable and enforceable against HostingCPU.
2. Scope and Necessity
We may narrow, reject, or seek clarification on requests that are overbroad, unclear, disproportionate, or legally deficient. We may also require that the requesting party seek information directly from the customer where appropriate.
3. Customer Notice
Where legally permitted and operationally appropriate, HostingCPU may notify the affected customer before producing requested information. We may withhold notice where prohibited by law, court order, urgency, or credible risk of harm.
4. Preservation and Emergency Requests
HostingCPU may preserve limited data for a reasonable period when presented with a credible legal preservation request. Emergency requests must clearly explain the immediate threat and legal basis for accelerated handling.
5. Costs and Administrative Burden
Where permitted by law, HostingCPU reserves the right to recover reasonable costs associated with review, search, extraction, preservation, or production of records.
HostingCPU does not waive objections, confidentiality rights, legal privileges, customer protections, or data protection obligations merely by receiving or reviewing a request. We may seek narrower scope, confidentiality protections, reimbursement, or judicial clarification before responding.
